We all know that April showers bring May flowers. Well, April showers can also bring spotty spray tans if you aren’t prepared! The number one enemy of an Air-Tan within the first 8 hours of application is water.
As your tan develops, ANY liquid that comes in contact with your skin will result in spots and an uneven tan. The “it will be fine, I’ll run to my car” theory does NOT pair well with a fresh Air-Tan.
Here is an example of what water can do to your developing tan:
Have no fear, it is 100% possible to get your fabulous Air-Tan glow on a rainy day if you stick to these general rules of thumb.
- BE COMPLETELY COVERED. This means long pants, longs sleeves, and a hoodie or umbrella.
- SAY NO TO FLIP FLOPS. Closed toed/full coverage shoes are ideal as drops may land on your feet and flip flops run the risk of kicking up water to the backs of your legs. Don’t even get me started on puddles.
- UMBRELLAS ARE YOUR FRIEND. Time to bust out that umbrella you bought at Target 3 years ago and always forget to grab until its too late. Rain jackets with a hood are also a great idea. You want a material that will ward off the wet and not soak into the fabric.
- PONCHOS PONCHOS PONCHOS. Don’t have your own? No worries, we’ve got you covered for just $6.
Follow these simple steps during Spring to get your perfect warm weather glow!
