The sun is out and ready to burn your skin if you are not careful. After race weekend, I saw a lot of tan lines and sun burns. Sunscreen is super important while playing out in the sun, but if for some reason you do get a sunburn and your skin starts to peel, is it ok to get an Air-Tan?
If you get an Air-Tan on top of peeling skin, the tan will come right off. The DHA in the Air-Tan solution tans the top layer of your skin. Once it starts to shed or exfoliate, so does the tan. Since peeling is a more intense way of shedding for your skin, it will look super blotchy and patchy.
Exfoliating is a major key in making your Air-Tan last. If you are peeling and want to get an Air-Tan, make sure that you exfoliate and scrub until you are no longer peeling at all. Getting an Air-Tan to even out peeling areas will not help you. In fact, it will make the peeling areas way more noticeable!
If you have any other Air-Tan related questions, please let one of our technicians know! Don’t forget to get your Air-Tan for your summer tan and lather up on sunscreen!
