If you are like me, you have made plenty of New Year’s resolutions throughout your life. If you are even more like me, you have probably found it easy to fall short of these resolutions every year. Making a commitment to do something for yourself is rewarding, but keeping this promise to yourself can be challenging. There are many steps that you can take to help you keep these resolutions going throughout the year!
The most important part in creating a resolution is making sure that you have set an attainable goal. For example, don’t cut something off entirely, but maybe do less of something until it can be cut off entirely. I made my goal to eat LESS sweets instead of not eating sweets all together. If I chose to cut them off completely, I would probably fail!
If you carry a planner, write yourself a note every single day reminding you of your goal. Having a written reminder or encouragement can help you to remember to get things done or encourage you to work towards your goal every day. If you do not carry a planner, set an alarm on your phone that reminds you of your goal daily.
It is also important to talk to friends and family about your goal. By doing this you can create your own little support team. Maybe one of them will have the same goal as you and you can both encourage each other throughout the year. I believe in speaking things into existence. If you verbalize it, you will have a better chance of achieving!
Good luck with all of your resolutions this year and don’t forget the perfect place for a little “me” time” Air-Tan!
