2015 has come and gone and now it is time to bring in 2016! I cannot believe that this year is almost over. We have been pretty spoiled with weather this year, so planning making NYE plans might be a little bit easier to think about. There are tons of fun things to do around the city to celebrate the New Year!
If you missed it last year, downtown Indy will be having a huge street party again this year on NYE. The event starts at 8pm on Georgia Street with food, drinks, and live performances. At midnight, they will be dropping an Indy Race car instead of a ball and lighting off fireworks. Bankers Life Fieldhouse will be open that night for those wanting to step inside for a bit.
If you are searching for a family friendly NYE event, there will be a Family New Year’s Eve celebration going on at the Governor Frank O’Bannon Great Hall at the Indiana State Museum downtown. There will be face painting, stilt walkers, clowns, and movies to help keep the family entertained. They will be having a balloon drop at 8pm for the kids to enjoy.
The Children’s Museum is also hosting a great event for the kids. Instead of counting down to midnight, there will be a countdown to noon and 1pm for the kids who won’t be able to stay up until midnight. This event will be help from 10am-1pm. This is the perfect way to celebrate with the kids, and still enjoy an adult night out later.
