We have all heard a glass of red wine every day is good for the heart, but new research published by the University of Alberta indicates just how good it is for your heart. The study, published in May in the Journal of Physiology, found that a natural compound called resveratrol is found in some fruits, some nuts, and also in red wine. Studies show resveratrol has the same results on the human body that you would see from an extensive endurance training session. Scientists say, not only is this news for everyone, but especially for those who are physically incapable of exercise due to disability. Drinking red wine for resveratrol “could mimic exercise for them or improve the benefits of the modest amount of exercise that they can do,” says Jason Dyck, principal investigator on the research study. Resveratrol achieves these mind-blowing results by improving physical performance, heart function, and muscle strength.
That was all the good news. Do you want the bad news? Benefits are found by drinking one glass of red wine per day. My solution? Easy. Invite a few girlfriends over for your new “workout”, uncork it, and enjoy. 🙂
Want even better results? Combine your new “workout” plan with an Air-Tan and instantly “lose” 10 pounds with your tan. Who knew looking good could be so easy?
