This is a very popular question we receive almost every single day. We have tanned numerous pregnant mothers weekly throughout their pregnancy and post-pregnancy. After all, an Air-Tan is an instant pick-me-up, and we could all use one of those! Air-Tans are UV free, so they are the best alternative for a natural looking, even tan. Also, the self-tanning product doesn’t penetrate through your epidermis, so it doesn’t get into your bloodstream or milk!
If you want to get Air-Tanned while nursing, we suggest one of the following:
1. Wear a bra, tank top, or bathing suit top. Then you won’t have to worry about baby’s face turning tan while he/she nurses! It will also cover and protect your nipples from the tanning solution. Don’t forget to wear a strapless top if you are worried about tanlines on your shoulders!
2. Wipe your nipples/breast with a wet cloth after your Air-Tan session. We provide makeup remover wipes in all of the rooms, and you could even use one of these to wipe off. Just make sure you don’t get water on any other parts of you as you cannot shower, sweat, or get wet for 8 hours.
We tan both pregnant and nursing mothers every single day, but if you have any concerns, definitely check with your doctor first.
