I have to go somewhere right after I get sprayed. Do you recommend that?
It depends on the situation. If you like to go a level 5 and then have to be at a special event a few hours later, you might look a little bit crazy. In order to get a tan that lasts for 7-10 days, the solution has to activate on your skin for several hours. We recommend that you wait at least 8 hours before showering, sweating, or getting wet. If you shower early, your tan won’t be streaky but you do run the risk of losing some of your color. Especially with this hot weather, it’s best to be in a spot where you will stay cool and not sweat your tan off.
If you go a level 2 or lighter, it wouldn’t be too bad to go to your event without showering, but I wouldn’t do it for anything too super important. You also need to keep in mind that the bronzer can rub off onto your clothing before you shower, so don’t wear anything light colored.
Can I get waxed after? Can I get a mani/pedi after?
No. It is best to always make getting your Air Tan the last stop in your beauty regimen. When you get waxed, some of the top layers of your skin can also come off with the hair that’s being removed. I’ve literally seen squares of tan ripped off on eyebrows and in bikini areas–not a good look, ladies.
With manis and pedis, they soak and scrub your hands and feet. Since your tan comes off as you exfoliate, these will take your tan off faster. Also, you don’t want to get your nails done immediately before getting your tan because the lotion they put on you can create a barrier between your skin and the tanning product. It’s best to allow several hours in between or I like to do my waxing and nails a day ahead of time.
