This is the THIRD year for our Halloween Costume Contest!
It’s pretty simple to participate, here are the deets:

Have you been to “Just POP In” in Broad Ripple?!? If you haven’t you’re missin out!

This week we are featuring the other half of the dynamic duo of owners of Just Pop In, Mandy Selke. These girls are always a joy to see in the salon! With fall here, popcorn is the perfect munchie to curl up with on the couch on these dreary days we’ve been having! 1. How did you start coming to Air-Tan?
I don’t make it out into the sunshine often and my skin was screaming for warmth and glow!
2. How long have you been coming to Air-Tan?
Could it be over two years? (Emily’s note: Yes, it has actually been four years!)
3. Why do you love Air-Tan?The gals are professional and provide an amazingly natural look every time! You will walk out feeling fab in just minutes! They Rock!

Here are some FUN FALL Date Night Ideas

Fun Fall Date Ideas
Looking for some fun and different date ideas? Here are some interesting things going on in Indy in the next couple months:
- Hanna Haunted Acres http://www.hannahauntedacres.com—This goes on September 24 thru October 31. You can get one ticket for all six attractions for $27 on Fridays and Saturdays, or you can buy tickets individually for each attraction for $13 a piece on Sunday thru Thursday. I am scared to death of haunted houses, but somehow my friends can convince me to go along. I’ve heard that this one is the best in Indy!
- Traders Point Creamery Small Plates and Half Price Wine http://www.tpforganics.com/ —Every Wednesday night from 5-9:00 pm (9/28 thru 12/28). This sound like an awesome deal to sample a lot of different food and have some cheap drinks!
- Some fun concerts—The Avett Brothers are going to be at The Lawn at White River on Saturday, October 1 at 7:30 pm and Foster the People will be at The Vogue (Air-Tan’s neighbor) on Tuesday, October 4 at 8:00 pm.
- Heartland Film Festival http://www.trulymovingpictures.org/—There are several different theatres around Indy that are showing films October 13-22. I think this will be fun to go see movies, like documentaries, that you can’t normally see in theatres. Tickets are $7.50 in advance or $9 at the door.

Its Time For Some Fall TV (new seasons & new programs)

Fall TV 2011
I am way more of a “tv person” than a “movie person,” so this time of year is great because there are all new shows coming out, PLUS my faves are returning with new seasons!
Here are a couple of new shows that I am looking forward to:
~ The Playboy Club (Mondays, 10pm, NBC)—Mad Men is one of my favorite shows (Ok, I have a lot of favorite shows…), but it’s not coming back til March. The Playboy Club’s whole 1960’s feel and the drama of it will give me a little fix until Mad Men comes back on.
~ America’s Next Top Model (Wednesdays, 9pm, CW)—I’ve kind of stopped watching this show over the past few years, but I am really excited about this cycle because they are bringing back all the favorites from the beginning seasons. I’m excited to see some of the old girls and see what they have been up to since they’ve been on the show.

Fillin You In On Our Local Air-Tan Celebs

Katelyn and I are doing a blog series of interviews of some of our fave, fab clients who are movers and shakers in the Broad Ripple area.
Up first is Carly Swift, who is co-owner (along with her twin sister, Mandy Selke, another wonderful client) of Just Pop In! http://www.justpopinonline.com/ These girls are so fun to be around, and are just like little rays of sunshine! They always brighten our day when they stop in for a tan. They have locations in Broad Ripple and at the airport, and if you haven’t tried their treats yet, you are SERIOUSLY missing out! Soooo good!!
1. Why did you start coming to Air-Tan?
I wanted a healthy glow alternative to the sun and something good for my skin. I’m happy with the amount of freckles I have. :)
2. How long have you been coming to Air-Tan?
I have been happily coming to Air-Tan for 2 years – girls…correct me if I’m wrong- (side note: She has actually been coming for FOUR years! Time flies)
3. Why do you love Air-Tan?This is easy! The girls do an outstanding job making the tan look natural. I feel happier with a little glow. Of course…the girls who work there are positive, respectful and down right rad!
4. What is your favorite place in Broad Ripple besides Air-Tan?
WOW! This is a tough question because I have too many favorite places in Broad Ripple! I love the Broad Ripple Brew Pub.
5. What is your favorite guilty pleasure?
I LOVE sugar free red bull. It makes me super happy!
6. What is something you’ve crossed off your bucket list?
I traveled to the incredible country of Africa. I will definitely go back for a double cross off my bucket list.
7. What are your top beauty must-haves?
Lip gloss! Can’t live without it!
8. What celebrity would play you in a movie?
Juliette Lewis…she’s just fun to watch!
9. What is your favorite tv show/movie?
My favorite show right now is True Blood (I know…showing the darker side to myself.) I love anything Dateline, 48 hour mystery, Survivor. My favorite movie…another tough question! Love Actually, Misery, The Family Man, Beautiful Girls, Home Alone, The Sound of Music, The Firm, I love independent films and documentaries.
