Fall around Indianapolis can be so much fun! Fall is my favorite season with the cooler temps, bonfires, and abundance of activities to do! By the time September rolls around, I’m so ready to trade in my shorts for a comfy sweater and booties. So what do Indy and the surrounding areas have to offer in the next couple months?
Irvington Halloween Festival
As a former Irvington resident, this has to be first on my list! This neighborhood goes big for the month of October. You’ll see some of the best (and scariest!) house decorations all month long, but the Halloween Street Fair on October 28th is a must. Family friendly activities, awesome local vendors, and a beer garden for the adults – what could be better? Check out their website to see everything they have offered!
Visiting an orchard is a classic fall pastime. Whether for a day date or an afternoon with the kiddos, it can be fun for everyone. Tuttle’s offers hayrides, apple and pumpkin picking, and tasty treats.
Indiana Renaissance Faire
Ever been to a Renaissance Faire? No? Me either! But this looks like a great time! The costumes, jousting, and acrobatics are enough to get me in the door. Add in the food and handcrafted art? I may just head up to Klipsch and make a day out of it.
If you have kids and haven’t done ZooBoo, you are definitely missing out! Get those costumes out early and head to the zoo on a Thursday-Saturday in October. The zoo is transformed into a Pumpkin Town without plenty of activities throughout. You may even get a better viewing of the animals who are more active in cooler temperatures.
