Did you make any New Year’s resolutions? The top resolution that Americans make is to lose weight and get healthy. It’s definitely a great goal, but did you know that less than half of people who make New Year’s resolutions actually achieve their goal? Don’t be part of that statistic!! The main reason that people give up is because it was too much work or too overwhelming. I’m here to give you a few tips on being – and staying – healthy in 2016.
- Start slow!
You don’t want to overwhelm yourself and get frustrated. Make one change in January, like packing a healthy lunch instead of eating out. Add another change in February, like adding a workout class or gym routine, and keep adding small changes.
- Realize you aren’t going to see huge results in small amount of time.
Consistency is the key! Whether you are trying to lower your blood pressure, get a 6-pack, or lose 50 pounds, you have to keep going. Lot of small results will eventually equal a big result.
- Don’t forget your mental health!
If you need a day off from the gym or super health-conscious food, take a day off. Just don’t let that one day turn into a whole week.
