I have this discussion daily with my clients. Whether they are switching to Air-Tan from habitually using tanning beds or they know someone personally who has died or been diagnosed with melanoma – Melanoma is not a joke. My mother-in-law had it several years ago and while she still has a beautiful outdoor swimming pool at her house, she doesn’t bask in the sun anymore. She knows melanoma and dying from UV exposure is just not worth shortening your life.
I’ve been meaning to share this news clip for awhile now. It really hits close to home and honestly, was hard to watch, knowing how many people still use tanning beds despite the warnings and dangers. The woman featured in the clip, is Ashley. She used tanning beds frequently and was diagnosed with skin cancer when she was 33 years old. She battled it for 7 years, finally dying when she was 40. She died last March. I simply can’t imagine this happening to me or a friend or a family member, but sadly, it does and it can. Do you know someone who has been affected by melanoma?
