We have been getting this question from our new clients so I thought it would be a good topic to talk about. Clients are usually worried about putting their clothes back on right after getting their Air-Tan because they don’t want it to rub off on their clothes or mess up the tan. I can tell you that putting your clothes on after your tan, will not mess the tan up. Once the Air-Tan is applied, it is immediately dried from the air of our guns. The layer that feels wet and sticky is called bronzer. This allows your technician to see the color level they are spraying you and lets you see the color immediately. The bronzer has lots of aloes and citrus oils to help keep your skin moisturized. This part of your tan may rub off on your clothes and sheets while you are waiting the 8 hours before showering. This is why we tell you to wear loose-fitting, dark colored clothing after getting your Air-Tan. To be safe, its best to wear cotton fabrics, as synthetics or silks could stain. If the bronzer did transfer to your clothing or sheets, it can be easily cleaned in a normal wash cycle. I also found that OxiClean does wonders in getting out the color from my tan.
I am always cautious once I get sprayed because I don’t want anything to mess up my tan. I usually always wear dark clothes and have an old set of sheets that I use when sleeping. I am a regular Air-Tanner, so I have these things on hand. If you just get tanned for special occasions, and you don’t feel like changing your sheets, just try an wear something that will cover you up so the tan doesn’t rub off. If it does, don’t worry–it will wash out!
