I consider myself pretty crafty, but like most people, I don’t have a ton of time to devote to doing many crafts. Christmastime is a good excuse for me to make a little bit of time to put some cute touches on my Christmas gifts. Growing up, my Grammie always made the prettiest bows for every single present. I always wanted to learn, but since she lives in Pennsylvania, I couldn’t ask her for her guidance. I looked it up on YouTube and found a really easy step-by-step from a cute lady that’s from New York and New Jersey (guessing by the the accent) and has the longest nails I’ve ever seen in my life. “If she can do it with those talons, then I can definitely do it,” is what I thought to myself. It really is pretty easy, too, and it makes the gifts so much more special and exciting-looking. You can find Christmas ribbon for the next year on sale for SUPER cheap in the days following December 25, which is always what I do. You can watch the tutorial I used in the link below.

This year, I want to try out some new ideas this year and expand my gift wrapping repertoire, so I’ve turned to my old friend, Pinterest, to help me out. I found one through Martha Stewart’s website, which sounds kind of intimidating but this one method seems do-able. I think this would look cute (and be easier than their directions) if you just used one of the clothing boxes that have lids with prints and designs already on them. You roll out your wrapping paper to fit the box you are wrapping, and then make creases for the edges of the box after you’ve cut out what you need. Then you can use a stencil or free hand a little silhouette in the center of the paper. It’d be cool to use brown paper to contrast with your design on the box, not to mention brown paper is way cheaper than regular Christmas wrap!
