October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Chances are, you know someone who has been affected by breast cancer. My aunt was diagnosed and had to undergo a double mastectomy years ago, but has been in remission since. Last year, one of my dearest clients at Air-Tan, who is only a few years older than me, was diagnosed. I’ve followed her through her journey of losing her hair, talks of a mastectomy, and how she stays positive on a daily basis.
The Colts have already turned the canal pink…but there’s a lot more we could all do. For one, women aged 20+ need to be at least getting an exam every 3 years. Women aged 40+ need a mammogram every 1-2 years. While age and family history are a major factor, you can also reduce your risk by exercising, drinking alcohol in moderation, and avoiding tobacco products. Can’t make it to any of the events? Pick up some of this sweet pink Colts swag and a portion of your purchase will go to the cause!
