Indy 500 Race Day Essentials
It’s getting closer and closer to the race, and I cannot wait! This year, I am going on a party bus with a big group of my college friends that I haven’t seen in awhile, so I am super-stoked! Even though the race is over a week away, I just started to think about what I’m going to wear and what I need to bring with me for the big event.
- Floppy hat—I’ve been contemplating rocking this fashion trend for awhile now, so I think I’m finally going to go for it! I definitely want to save my skin from the harmful rays of the sun, and this is the perfect way to do it. I just want something simple that can go with a variety of outfits. I found this cute, inexpensive one at Kohl’s!
- SPF—I wouldn’t be caught dead out in the sun without being slathered in some SPF. Dermatologists have recently bumped up the recommended minimum SPF from 15 up to 30. Check out this blog that offers some great, quick tips on sunscreen application:
- Cooler—A good cooler is essential for keeping all adult beverages J and water (Don’t forget to stay hydrated!!) ice cold all day long. If you are parking outside of the track and bringing your cooler into the infield, make sure that it is no bigger than 14×14”. Also, glass bottles are not allowed.
- Air-Tan—Of course, no outfit is complete without my Air-Tan. Especially if it is blazing hot out, I will probably be sporting a sun dress or shorts and a cute tank. Showing a lot of skin definitely requires some color! The week leading up to Memorial Day weekend is always crazy-busy at Air-Tan, so make sure you schedule your appointment ASAP!
