No one really knows exactly when April Fool’s day was created, but we do know it was probably by the French in the 1500’s. It eventually spread to other countries like Britain and Scotland. Eventually, it was brought to the United States in the 18th century by the English and the French. Because of the spread to other countries over the years, each country celebrates a little differently. In Scotland it is devoted to spoofs revolving around the buttocks and is known as Taily Day. The “Kick Me” sign can be traced back to the early days of Scotland’s Taily Day.
In England, April Fool’s jokes are done in the beginning of the day as it is considered bad luck to play a joke on someone after Noon.
In Rome, the day is celebrated on March 25 and is called “Roman Laughing Day.”
In Portugal, April Fool’s Day is celebrated the Sunday and Monday before Lent and is often celebrated by people throwing flour on their friends.
In India, people celebrate on March 31 where people smear colors on one another to celebrate Spring.
Wherever or however you celebrate, one thing’s for sure, don’t look like a fool this April Fool’s Day and come get your tan on!!!
